Each step of your journey, grounded in care
Our story
Queer Fertility Care (QFC) is a queer and trans family building practice supporting intended parents and families from preconception through to early pregnancy. Our practice came out of experience working in the fertility industry and recognizing that support can often be over-medicalized and siloed. Our community members didn’t know a reliable place to go to start their journey, or where to go when they had questions about what comes next.
We provide affirming, coordinated support that bridges emotional care, system navigation, education, and basic reproductive testing. For those who want to begin their family building journey outside of a clinic setting, QFC provides coordinated support, counselling, testing, education, and navigation in a less medicalized environment that allows you to focus on your priorities, timeline, and needs at the pace that works for you.
Our model is designed to reduce the overwhelm of family building by combining care coordination, counselling, and nurse practitioner support into one integrated experience.
Many services may be covered through extended health benefits, including services provided by social workers, social service workers, counsellors, and nurse practitioners.
What began as a passion project has evolved into something more. We’re proud of where we’ve been and even more excited for what’s ahead. What sets us apart isn’t just our process, it’s the intention behind it. We take time to understand, explore, and create with purpose at every turn. We stick with you throughout your journey and will continue to be a resource as long as you need it.

Clients access reproductive and preconception care through a Nurse Practitioner (NP).
In Ontario, a Nurse Practitioner can independently provide many forms of primary and reproductive healthcare that are highly relevant to fertility and early pregnancy support.
NP services include:
Teaching and support re: monitoring cycles at home + doing home insemination
ordering and interpreting diagnostic laboratory testing
Initial fertility-related bloodwork requisitions
Ordering semen analysis
STI screening
hormone testing
sexual health care
pregnancy confirmation and early pregnancy monitoring
basic reproductive health assessments
support with informed consent and education
Follow up review and discussion of all diagnostic test results
Referral to obstetric care provider of pt’s choice (RM, OB, etc)
An NP may also help streamline transitions into fertility clinic care by ensuring documentation, testing, and referrals are organized prior to referral.
This allows clients to enter clinic-based fertility care with greater clarity, preparation, and continuity.
